Maybe it’s just me, but there seemed to be quite a few literary videos cropping up over the weekend. From hitchhiking Kafka cockroaches to songs about children’s literacy to an astute response to the ongoing debate over publishing’s future, I thought these videos might serve as a nice introduction to the week.

Literary t-shirt retailer Kafkacotton celebrated the release of their On the Road-inspired shirt by sending their mascot, a 6-foot-tall cockroach named Gregor, on a hitchhiking trip. (Via.)

You’ve probably already seen this, but as far as I’m concerned we can’t have too many zombies on this blog. The trailer is also impressively well-done.

Maybe I’m feeling overly sentimental because it’s Monday and I’m tired and haven’t quite geared into my usual snarky self, but this video is warming the cockles of my little heart. Who says kids today don’t read?
